Shopping has come full circle. From the Rolling General Stores in the early to mid-twentieth century that made home deliveries, Sears and Roebuck catalog, to heading to the shopping mall, specialty shops, and mega grocery stores that are miles from your home. In my time just about the only thing you could get delivered to your door was milk and the mail!!!! That is quickly changing as the demand for home delivery is rapidly growing. Nowadays, you can virtually have anything come home delivery!! Really, it is amazing.

Most local grocery stores now have home delivery, just go to their website or ap, their employees shop for you and “voila” you can pick it up or have them deliver it. Restaurants that don’t have delivery now use Uber!!!!! If you can imagine it in a box, wait, it doesn’t have to fit in a box to be delivered to your door! If you didn’t want to go out shopping, you probably could get by without ever needing to set foot out your front door, except to sign for the home delivery!!!

I did a little research but found no real statistics of the most popular items that are being delivered to the individual’s home, therefore, there is nothing scientific about this list. But there is definitely in recent months a high increase in home delivery of basic needs such as groceries. This list is just my top 5 home deliveries. Some are quite unique and I hope they spark some interest in trying something new.

No. 1 Pick: Wine Delivery

Wine. My Husband and me did our research and there are several wine clubs but we were looking for healthy fine wine made by second and third generation crafters, no punch type wine like in the average store. My husband is the wine drinker but we researched together and found a fine wine of the month club. Yes, fine wine delivered to our front door. Each delivery of exclusive wines from Napa and Sonoma Valleys are carefully packed, refigured during delivery when needed and my husband is just down right gitty when it arrives. It is always exciting when the new box arrives. Definitely my husbands top choice of deliveries, well the second one ranks up there too!

No. 2  Pick (LOL): Massage

Ok, I really wanted to put Pizza here but the fact that it is my number 2 choice, I didn’t think it should be food related! Therefore, I am going to go with a massage. This one is also one of my husband to picks. Life is stressful and sometimes you just can not get to some exotic resort that has a spa. A massage has many health benefits and it just plan fantastic to get a great massage. My area has choices who come and provide music, hot rocks, aromatherapy, and there are other options so be sure to get all the details when you call a masseuse in your area. Ooohhh  mmmm

No. 3 Pick: Pizza

Alright, this one is going to be food, specifically pizza. Love Love Love pizza and fresh hot delivery beats frozen every time. I really feel bad for you if you do not have a great local pizzeria to call on those nights that you just don’t feel like leaving the house or that day that was just too busy to cook and the kids are starving. This choice is nothing new or unique but it has to rank up there in my book.

Under this category of food, I have to add a couple of items. My husband and I were apart a couple of wedding anniversaries ago. We had never been apart for an anniversary! We have been married for over 40 years!!! He had an Edible Arrangement sent to me. It was awesome, so fresh and delicious. I actually felt guilty that I couldn’t share it. (My husband upon reading this said I should have put fried chicken, not the fruit! That’s just a glimpse of my husband’s personality!)

We have gotten groceries delivered and I have to say that it was pretty convenient. Grocery shopping is not my favorite chore. I can truly understand why this is such a fast-growing trend. I still can’t seem to give up picking out my fresh fruits and veggies yet.

No. 4 Pick: Mobile Pet Grooming Service

Pet Grooming. It can be stressful for you and your pet trying to get them to the groomer. If your pet hates spending hours in a cage and the noisy retaining room, then this is an option you should investigate. By using a mobile pet grooming service, your pet will get individual attention in a calm, cage-free environment just right outside your door. Most have online reviews and credentials, as well as what their mobile facility includes. This is a great time-saving and hassle-free way of caring for your pet’s grooming needs. Instead of transporting them across town, just simply put their leash on and walk them to the end of your sidewalk!

My No. 5: Mobile Vehicle Detailing

Mobile vehicle detailing. I am impressed with this one. You can get your vehicle completely detailed either in your driveway or while your vehicle is in the parking garage at work. We spend a lot of time and money on our ride and it only makes sense to invest a little more care in its maintenance. It smells better, feels better and just all around is more enjoyable to drive. It also appears that it is a good investment come trade-in time, you have to love that bonus.

Summing it Up

These are my top five picks for an item or service for home delivery to your door. As I said, nothing scientific here, just my opinion and observation for what it is worth. My number one choice is the one that I have to say that my husband and me really investigated and did comparisons on different clubs. Wine can come from all over the world to your door but boutique wines from Napa and Sonoma Valleys are hard to top. I did write an article about the information that we found.
